Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP on the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she first gained notoriety. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's reference. In the following calendar, her songs circulated throughout Dreamville. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a track that she performed alongside Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was followed by a video in September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same title. In February of 2019, a music video was released to promote the song. It already has nearly 3 million views on YouTube within its initial week. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
